Abstract

"This research investigates the significant role of translation, especially historical translation, in shaping human civilizations. It aims to examine the intricate relationship between translation, language, and their evolution, and to explore the connection between translation and historical contexts. By focusing on 'historical translation', the research delves into its methodologies and challenges within and across different historical periods. Specifically, it seeks to answer questions about the origins and evolution of translation, its importance and challenges in ancient times (Roman, Byzantine, and medieval periods), and the underlying theories of historical translation. The findings from this research will serve as a foundation for future studies that adopt a comprehensive linguistic, analytical, social, and political approach to historical translation, as well as exploring the techniques used to decipher ancient codes."
