Abstract

Translation criticism is still an absent practice in Arab academic and cultural studies, despite its importance in understanding the mechanisms of Arab reception of the thought of others. The importance of this type of criticism increases when it addresses foreign texts that invest essential components in our Arab culture. Edward Said is considered one of the most prominent of these components. Hence the source of the importance of the book that Timothy Brennan wrote about him and his thought, and the importance of the Arabic translation that Muhammad Asfour completed for this book. However, many errors occurred in this translation. We want to highlight this through a small form, no more than one page.
