This article examines the concept of boundaries from both a social and literary perspective, drawing on examples from contemporary Moroccan literature written in French. It highlights how boundaries—whether physical, religious, or symbolic—shape relationships between men and women, parents and children, believers and non-believers. The author demonstrates how the transgression of these boundaries, notably through orality and linguistic hybridity, contributes to a subversive style of writing. Female characters assert their rights and dignity by challenging the submission imposed in the name of religion or social conventions. Meanwhile, the paternal figure and male authority are called into question, revealing the impact of violence and misunderstanding on children’s identity formation. Ultimately, the article emphasizes the need to reconsider the balance between duties and freedoms, so as to establish mutual respect conducive to both individual and collective development.
