"In this article, Chouli Achour Christian explores the question of literary precedence in Maghrebi literature written in French, focusing on Algeria. By analyzing the works of Kateb Yassin and Kamel Daoud in relation to earlier texts, the author demonstrates the enduring influence of Albert Camus on Algerian novelists, despite the different historical contexts of colonialism and post-colonialism. The novel 'The Stranger' is identified as a particularly influential text, shaping the trajectory of Algerian fiction written in French. Camus is positioned as a pivotal figure who continues to inspire Algerian writers."
