Translation undoubtedly occupies a major space in Arabic studies but the thoughts on translation could not get enough attention in research. One of the reasons often been highlighted is that the text containing these thoughts remain spread over a wide range of Arabic literary heritage which makes it very difficult for researchers to delve into this topic. This paper tries to highlight resources of these text which may play a vital role in understanding Arab thought on translation. After a brief introduction to the topic, the problem of resources scarcity has been discussed; then ideas presented by some contemporary western scholars on this issue have been examined and certain works in Arabic and English have been highlighted where corresponding authors have succeeded in discovering new resources to study Arab thought on translation.
