The short film is akin to the short story in the world of literature, in terms of its impact on the audience and the audience’s judgment of it. The existence of a short film necessitates the presence of a critic and a film analyst, and there are various theories of artistic judgment and film evaluation. These theories are among the tools that critics use to analyze films in general, and short films in particular. If the critic adopts an impressionistic analysis of the film based on their personal and emotional judgments left by the artistic work, or deals with the artistic and actual content, messages, and issues adopting an objective analysis, or analyzes the technical elements and aspects of the film and their contribution to its overall structure, or if they analyze the interactive aspect between the film and the audience all these artistic analyses were the primary reason for writing this article. It aims to study, analyze, and discuss these analytical mechanisms that help in a deeper understanding of the short film and provide a comprehensive evaluation of its impact, fundamental values, and even its quality and professionalism.
