Abstract

This article examines subversive writing in the Moroccan Francophone novel as both a project of catharsis and a mechanism of critical representation of society. The first part analyzes the literary work as a site where the writer effaces himself in favor of language, establishing a shared liberation with the reader, which questions ideological dependence on the West beyond geopolitical independence. The notion of sacrifice, particularly in Serhane's work, is examined as an inverted myth, in which patriarchal power turns into episodes of violence legitimized by a distorted religious discourse.

The second part proposes an analysis of subversive characters as mirror-figures of everyday life - the fqih, the father, the madman - revealing the mechanisms of power and hypocrisy that dominate the real space. This article ultimately questions the capacity of this literary catharsis to bring about an effective reform of the social structures it denounces.
