Patrick Charaudeau attempts to determine the position of discourse analysis in relation to other disciplines in the human and social sciences that are interested in the political field, so that he can define what distinguishes it as a scientific method and a critical-analytical approach. The definition of political discourse required re-emphasizing it with action and power to finally elucidate its influence on public opinion without ignoring its multiple challenges vis-à-vis other spheres: social, legal and media. While its study requires taking into consideration the traces they constitute, in particular, political, social, legal, as well as moral and psychological facts.
